Community Improvement Corporations (CIC's) are economic development organizations with the purposes of: advancing, encouraging, and promoting the industrial, economic, commercial, and civic development of a community or area; or facilitating the reclamation, rehabilitation, and reutilization of vacant, abandoned, tax-foreclosed, or other real property. CIC's can hold and manage vacant, abandoned, or tax-foreclosed real property pending its reclamation, rehabilitation, and reutilization; and can assist governmental entities and other nonprofit or for-profit persons to assemble, clear, and clear the title of property described above in a coordinated manner. CIC's can also promote economic and housing development in a county or region.

Kenton Historic Courthouse District

The Kenton Historic Courthouse District is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission to support the renovation and revitalization of the nine-block area in Kenton's downtown. The Kenton Historic Courthouse District also supports the businesses located in the downtown district, in an effort to promote the preservation of our beautiful downtown.

The Kenton Historic Courthouse District organizes quarterly meetings for downtown business and building owners for the purpose of collaboration and information sharing. Call the Alliance office at 419-673-4131 to be added to the email notifications for these meetings.

Window Wonderland and The Kenton Lions Club: Ohio's Biggest Small Town Christmas Parade

The Kenton Historic Courthouse District partners with a large team of volunteers to bring Christmas magic to the downtown shop windows in a spectacle called Window Wonderland. The unveiling of Window Wonderland is paired with the Kenton Lions Club: Ohio's Biggest Small Town Christmas Parade, held the Tuesday before Thanksgiving! Enjoy the wonder as Santa comes to Kenton!

Downtown Kenton Flower Project

Every spring, volunteers assemble to the Downtown Courthouse District to begin the beautification efforts. A variety of floral arrangements and seasonal décor are placed throughout the square. This offers visitors and locals a cheerful experience to the busy backdrop of downtown life.

Each December, we work to bring magic to Kenton Historic Courthouse District with the beautifully decorated windows of Window Wonderland around Courthouse Square.
